A House Between Sun and Shade

This concept house is an exploration of light and atmosphere, balancing sun-drenched openness with deeply shaded, cool retreats. The contrast between these two realms defines the experience of living here—an elevated wintergarten on the top floor welcomes the warmth of the sun, while the lower levels remain protected, offering respite from the heat. The lush rooftop gardens covering the bedrooms and hallways blur the line between architecture and landscape, transforming the upper level into a floating bungalow. From one side, it feels nestled within greenery; from the other, elevated like a penthouse, seemingly suspended above the land.

  • Sun and Shade

    The house creates a striking contrast between bright, sunlit spaces and deep, shaded retreats. While the glass wintergarten on top invites the sun in, the lower areas remain protected, offering a cool and sheltered environment, framed by trees and textured stone walls.

  • Structure and Private Gardens

    The house is built on four main blocks, each featuring rounded ends that enclose private patios with lush greenery. Each bedroom opens to its own secluded garden, allowing residents to wake up surrounded by nature, creating a deep sense of calm and connection to the landscape.

  • Elevated Bungalow Among Nature

    From this angle, the house rises above the surroundings, with the rooftop garden creating the feeling of a secluded retreat. The glass structure offers panoramic views, creating an illusion of being suspended in nature, balancing luxury with the serenity of a natural escape.

  • Penthouse

    This roof garden makes the house feel like a secluded bungalow, offering tranquility on one side, while the elevated height of the structure provides a penthouse-like experience on the other side, floating above the landscape.
